Identify the Impacts of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on Watershed Sediment and Water Yields Dynamics

چکیده
The construction of large-scale water reservoir facilities in transboundary river basins always arouses intense concern and controversy. Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) under Ethiopia is perceived to affect security Egypt Sudan. Therefore, this study investigated the sediment balance Blue Nile River (BNR) basin identified spatio-temporal variation yields along with GERD using Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Tradeoffs (InVEST) yield models. BNR experienced increasing between 1992 2020 has shown a growth trend since 2020. lion’s share come from upstream GERD. Taken together, these results imply that will serve as storage silt trap for Sudan Egypt.
